Holiday Updates

Hello 2010! Scott and I had a blast the past couple of months and hope you did as well. We totally made out like bandits for Christmas but I'll brag about that later.

For Thanksgiving, we went to Indiana to hang w/ the Nugent side of the fam. It was awesome seeing my cuz Thomas again and we got to meet another cousin Ben. He's Scott's age and they got to teeter around together and drool a lot, you know, kid stuff. Here's Thomas and me in our matching air mattress beds.

We all had a blast playing in the gym in the basement of mom's aunt and uncle's house. Yes, you read that correctly. A gym in their basement. Check out Scottie riding a tricycle and me watching the action.

A couple weeks before Christmas, Dad, Mom and me got the flu at the same time. It was a miserable night but we made it. Mom said she's glad we got that over with before Christmas. Two years ago we all got it Christmas Eve and had to cancel the festivities so I suppose she is right but it certainly didn't FEEL right while we were taking turns throwing up!!
Just before all that we enjoyed a full day of bundling up, sipping hot cocoa, taking a tractor ride and cutting down our Christmas tree.... ok, you got me. We went to Home Depot and picked one out in about 5 minutes.

It took about a week to get it decorated what with the flu and all but here it is before Santa arrived.

And yea, that IS a JD Gator behind the tree. Grandma & Papa got that for us. So cool huh?

So let me tell you about my Christmas, it was a night I still talk about. Santa actually came to my house!! He came Christmas Eve because we were really good and he had a lot of stops to make. We set out cookies and milk and a carrot for the reindeer. Then, Mom and Grandma took us upstairs to bed. Pretty soon I heard bells and Santa and the reindeer stomping around outside. Then they were in our house! Grandpa told Santa we were sleeping and that we've been good boys. After he left we went downstairs and saw that Santa had left us lots of presents, it was so cool!

The only thing that made me mad was Scott pushing me aside to open presents, even mine! We got some cool stuff though. We also had Christmas with the rest of the Pethers too. I'm rocking out with my new guitar!

The other big thing is that Scott had surgery! He's been dealing with a long 3-month ear infection that just won't quit. After 6 antibiotics the doc sent him to an ENT to schedule a surgery to put tubes in his ears. The big event was earlier this week. Here he is pre-op. He made a quick recovery and even seems to be eating and hearing a little better! Maybe he'll listen when he invades my personal space and I tell him "WALK AWAY SCOTT!"

So that's the latest and greatest with us. I'll catch up with you next time when I'll be an older and wiser 3-yr old! Apples anyone?
