Like Daddy

Sadly, Halloween is done and gone this year. I had such a blast. I went trick-or-treating four times. At the campground, at school twice and then Halloween night. Grandfather came up just to go trick-or-treating with me!

My school even had a Halloween Carnival where I got a "tattoo", painted pumpkins and played games.

Scott finally got his first haircut. He did so well and I cheered him on. Here's the before, during and after pictures of him. It sure makes him look different.

He's really getting around fast these days too. He even crawled in the dryer while Mom was doing laundry!

When I get older, I'm gonna be a bowhunter like my Daddy. In fact, I've already asked Santa for a bow and arrow. Maybe it'll get me a deer like Daddy got this year. Then I can eat all the venison jerky that I want! And Scottie is really getting interested in wildlife too. He gets so excited pointing at the deer on the wall and seeing them on Daddy's hunting shows. It'll be so much fun when we get older and can go on hunting trips with Dad. Maybe by then we'll have bought some land in Iowa!

Oh guess what else? I'm now sleeping in a big boy bed!! Yea, I know, it's a big deal. First few days I checked to see what I could get away with by getting up early and trying to get in bed with Mom and Dad or not staying in bed at night but they keep telling me I gotta sleep in my own bed. Mom did buy me this awesome turtle that shines stars on the ceiling which is so cool to look at while I fall asleep!

So that's all I've really gotta tell you for now. Looking forward to my girl Keira comin' over next week, Thanksgiving and any other fun that comes my way!!

Ain't Nobody Gonna Slow Him Down, Oh No, He's Gotta Keep On Movin'

It's been another fun-filled, action-packed month for us Pethers boys. Scott had another birthday party, this one with Cousin Logan and Papa. There were presents all over, even yours truly got a couple things! Look at these cupcakes Aunt Jen made - and yes, they tasted as good as they looked!

Soon after the birthday festivites were over, Scottie began taking a few steps and got his 9th tooth! Good thing because he's been chewing on everything.

Also new to the mountain of toys we have: Mom's Aunt Lea Ann gave us all kinds of fun stuff. We got a kitchen, a tool bench and a shopping cart plus tons of stuff to use in the kitchen and shopping cart. I'm trying to get Scott to be my sous chef but right now all he wants to do is throw stuff on the floor. I've got a lot of work ahead of me training him in the Little Tikes culinary world of mine.

Speaking of food, Daddy and I helped Mom pick the last of the veggies from the garden. What kind of carrots is that woman growing?!?!?!

Have I told you how great school is lately? I love playing with my best friends Joey and Luke everyday and talk about them all the time at home. But the other day I made friends with a lovely creature named Melody. We held hands out to the playground and again on the way back in. Sometimes Mom asks me the name of my girlfriend. I tell her it's Melody AND Willow. Who says I'm limited to just one?

Recently we went to the orchard for some pumpkins and apples. We didn't go on the hayride because it had rained the past 48 hours and the folks didn't want to spend $11 per person. I think those city-folks will pay that kind of money but not us, I can ride on a tractor anytime at home. But that didn't stop us from having fun at the petting zoo and playing on the pumpkins.

That same weekend Scott really got the hang of walking. He's getting pretty good and will walk all the way across the room. He's mighty proud of himself by the look on his face! But, it also means trouble. Yesterday, Mom said while I was taking my nap Scott climbed up and stood on MY stool at the kitchen counter while she was making applesauce. I better not catch him doing that while I'm around. He better ask Grandmother to get him his own stool!

So last week was Mom's birthday. This is what we got her. Now Scott and I will be with her all the time. She really likes it and is enjoying that I tell her Happy Birthday everyday since then too.

Scottie is getting to be so much fun. He gives these giant, strong bear hugs and sometimes doesn't let go. Awkward!! He loves to jump on and tackle Mom and Dad if they lay on the ground, I got him this time though! He's also getting good at blowing kisses and leaning in to give kisses. He's a little lover like me - I'm teaching him well!

This past weekend we kicked off Halloween early with some trick-or-treating at the campground. It was a bit overwhelming at first with all those kids dressed up and people standing around. I was feeling a little shy and look like the saddest Indian ever, don't I?

But once the trick-or-treating began and people started giving me candy just for saying a little phrase my spirits improved dramatically!

Scott looked pretty cute too. But some people said she was a cute giraffe, so we need to get him in for his first haircut - pronto!

Birthday Boy

yo, Yo, YO!! Yes, it's been a few months but gimme a break, Scott and I have been busy. So let's get right into where we've been...

My last post was just before the 4th. For Independence Day, my Grandmother and Grandfather came over for a cookout. Grandmother conducted an experiment on the adults, see her blog about it.

Scott and I also went to our first ever parade. It was such a blast having candy raining down on us from fire trucks, floats and more tractors than anyone can imagine seeing in one place. Later we were invited over to Mr Gary and Ms Candy's house next door for a cookout. Their grandson, my buddy, Garrett took me for a ride around the yard in his truck - what a thrill, I think I messed my pants... oh wait, I do that anyway, that's what diapers are for!

A few weeks later, we all went back up north to Grandma and Papa's place. The weather was chilly so I didn't get to take the jet ski out for a spin this time. But we hit the pontoon a few times. Maybe we'll get up there one more time this summer and I'll show those waves a thing or two...

Then came the big event! It was my GG's (great-grandma) 91st birthday party! Anyone who is anyone (well maybe just the Donnellys) was there. Family came from as far away as Oregon, Alabama and Virginia for this not-to-miss event. I had a blast hanging out with my cousin Thomas, he cracks me up!

We ate, we took pictures (check out our huge family!) and we partied like we always do. Thank goodness we did enjoy ourselves because just two weeks ago my GG passed away. It's been pretty difficult for my mom because she admired GG so much. She talks about how positive, happy and accepting GG was. She said she never complained and always had a smile on her face. GG never said 'no' to a party invitation and was always one of the last to leave it. I know I'll miss her too because she was always so happy to see Scott and I. Love you GG!

So, let me talk about Scott for a little bit. HE'S A YEAR OLD NOW!!! Yea! He's got 8 teeth now and boy does that kid know how to use them! He's an eating machine. A few months ago he suddenly refused any form of baby food and has been on table food like the rest of us. I think it's safe to say that he eats more than I do, for real. I don't like to eat. Drives my parents nuts. And I like to say no - a lot.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be talking about Scottie here aren't I? What can I say, I like me! So Scott actually gave Mom a present for his birthday, he started sleeping through the night - finally. Can you believe he just now started sleeping through the night? What a rookie...

Yea, so on to Scott's birthday. The 'rents posponed his birthday party because daycare said Scott had possibly been exposed to chickenpox two weeks prior and they figured he'd most likely get the 'pox right around his birthday. Luckily he didn't get it but the party probably wouldn't have happened anyway cause of GG's funeral. So on his birthday, just the 4 of us celebrated with cupcakes and I so very graciously offered to open Scott's presents for him. I've had so much fun with my new toys - huh? What's that? You mean they're NOT my toys? WT...?

So this past weekend, Grandmother and Grandfather babysat us while Mom and Dad went to a wedding. I think it was good for them to get out for a little bit. While they were gone Scott hit the bottle. Thanks Grandfather for bringing the Lil' Kings for us Lil' Kings!

Speaking of beer, one day the folks came to pick us up at school and my teacher ratted on me. She told them how I was playing with the toy kitchen with my friends and was serving them beer. Apparently she thought it was amusing but told me I had to serve them milk instead.

At that wedding, Mom was talking to a former Miss Michigan, who it turns out is a BIG fan of me and my blog. Frankly, I'm not surprised though, ladies love me.

So what's on the horizon for us? Scott is having a THIRD birthday party this weekend. Well, he actually will share the spotlight with cousin Logan and Papa, who all have birthdays this month. Maybe next blog I'll post pictures of it if mom gets some good ones. If not, hopefully next post will be about Scott starting to walk and me getting potty-trained.

I got a request from another "fan" to include more updates on Mom & Dad. So I asked them what's new and they said 'nothing'. So there you go - Mom and Dad are boring. I'll leave you with this picture my mom took, she's like the paparazzi with that camera...

Look At Him Go!

Watch out! My little brother Scott is growing up fast. On his 9-month birthday, he started crawling and got another tooth. (He is SUCH a copy-cat, see my blog from when I was 8-mo old.) Scott has really got the hang of crawling now though. He is pulling himself up on everything too. Before we all know it he'll be walking too. Yikes!

He's already crawling over to grab my toys which is SO not nice. Mom tells me to give him another toy to play with but he still wants my stuff. Ugh! But he is getting to be more fun to play with. Mom caught me trying to give Scott a piggy-back ride.

A couple weeks ago we went up to Grandma and Papa's house again. It's been a whole year since we were up there and now I got to play on some of the bigger toys. I really had a good time on the jet-ski. Every time we got back in I'd say "go again". It was a lot of fun to play in the sand too. Hopefully we'll get to go back up soon, that jet-ski is calling my name.

Ms. Rosie had some family issues come up so Scott is now back at my daycare. He is doing a lot better there this time though - probably 'cause he can crawl. He was on the verge of it last time and pretty frustrated. Plus his new thing is that he thinks he's a big boy like me and refuses to eat baby food. So he's been gobbling up diced chicken, Cheerios, corn, etc. Man, that boy can eat!!

So two weeks ago Mom had the day off and took just me to the park. It was fun spending some one-on-one time with her, minus the 'skeeters. I like going to the park, but not sure what I like more going down the slides are watching the other kids.

Ya know how people make New Years resolutions? Well I like to mix things up. I made a Second Half of the Year resolution. On the way home from my GG's house, I told mama "no more paci's". She was pretty excited about that, I guess I didn't really know what I was saying. Because that night when I asked for them she said they were gone and I said no more paci's. Umm... oops! But I did it! I don't use pacifiers anymore. I've asked for them a couple of times to see if she'll cave and give me one but she hasn't. I know, you're pretty impressed with me aren't you?!

So, what are you doing for the 4th? I'm going to see my first parade. I know it'll be fun. I'm SO into tractors and big trucks right now.

Check back with me again, Scott and I will be sure to have more pictures and updates for you!
